Our surgical gastroenterology department at AIIMS Patna has a dedicated ward with 30 beds, a fully-equipped modular operation theatre, and a specialized OPD block. The modular OT is equipped with advanced technology, such as 4K laparoscope, intraoperative ultrasound, endoscopy, Harmonic, Ligasure, and Cavitron Ultrasonic Surgical Aspirator (CUSA), which enables us to perform complex GI surgical procedures with high precision and accuracy. The complex is designed to ensure the highest level of hygiene and patient safety, with dedicated air handling units, HEPA filters, and a laminar flow system. We also have an ICU, HDU, and post-operative ward for critically ill patients. Our experienced surgical teams and medical staff are committed to delivering the best possible care to our patients.

Our department offers a spectrum of services to provide the highest quality care to our patients. These include outpatient clinic services, elective surgical services, and round-the-clock emergency services. Additionally, we have a dedicated schedule of teaching and learning activities such as seminars, journal clubs, radiology discussions, case presentations, and audits. 1. Gastrointestinal Cancer Screening Clinic: This clinic is designed to help individuals who are at high risk of developing gastrointestinal cancers, such as oesophageal, gastric, or colorectal cancer, receive early detection and treatment. Our expert team of gastrosurgeons, gastroenterologists and radiologists use advanced screening techniques to identify potential issues and provide personalized treatment plans.
2. Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Cancer Screening Clinic: Our HPB Cancer Screening Clinic provides specialized screening and treatment for cancers that affect the liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile ducts. Our team of experienced surgeons, oncologists, and radiologists use state-of-the-art diagnostic tools to detect and treat these cancers at an early stage.
3. Liver Clinic: The Liver Clinic is designed to evaluate and manage patients with liver diseases, including portal hypertension, liver cysts, hydatid liver disease and various liver cancers.
4. Pancreas Clinic: Our Pancreas Clinic offers specialized care for patients with pancreatic diseases, including acute and chronic pancreatitis, cystic tumors, and pancreatic cancer.
5. Gallbladder Clinic:Our Gallbladder Clinic provides comprehensive care for patients with gallbladder diseases, including gallstones, gallbladder cancer, and cholecystitis.
6. Gastro-esophageal Clinic: The Gastro-esophageal Clinic provides specialized care for patients with gastroesophageal conditions, including esophageal cancer, stomach cancer, achalasia cardia, GERD, corrosive stricture and peptic ulcer disease.
7. Liver Transplant Clinic: Our Liver Transplant Clinic provides comprehensive evaluation and management for patients who require liver transplantation due to end-stage liver disease.
